* Improve testing and try to fix MySQL hanging (#32515)wxiaoguang2024-11-151-10/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | By some CI fine tunes (`run tests`), SQLite & MSSQL could complete in about 12~13 minutes (before > 14), MySQL could complete in 18 minutes (before: about 23 or even > 30) Major changes: 1. use tmpfs for MySQL storage 1. run `make test-mysql` instead of `make integration-test-coverage` because the code coverage is not really used at the moment. 1. refactor testlogger to make it more reliable and be able to report stuck stacktrace 1. do not requeue failed items when a queue is being flushed (failed items would keep failing and make flush uncompleted) 1. reduce the file sizes for testing 1. use math ChaCha20 random data instead of crypot/rand (for testing purpose only) 1. no need to `DeleteRepository` in `TestLinguist` 1. other related refactoring to make code easier to maintain
* Reduce integration test overhead (#32475)Rowan Bohde2024-11-141-26/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In profiling integration tests, I found a couple places where per-test overhead could be reduced: * Avoiding disk IO by synchronizing instead of deleting & copying test Git repository data. This saves ~100ms per test on my machine * When flushing queues in `PrintCurrentTest`, invoke `FlushWithContext` in a parallel. --------- Co-authored-by: wxiaoguang <wxiaoguang@gmail.com>
* Perf: add extra index to notification table (#32395)BoYanZh2024-11-132-0/+78
| | | | | | | | | | | Index SQL: `CREATE INDEX u_s_uu ON notification(user_id, status, updated_unix);` The naming follows `action.go` in the same dir. I am unsure which version I should add SQL to the migration folder, so I have not modified it. Fix #32390
* Refactor LFS SSH and internal routers (#32473)wxiaoguang2024-11-121-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Gitea instance keeps reporting a lot of errors like "LFS SSH transfer connection denied, pure SSH protocol is disabled". When starting debugging the problem, there are more problems found. Try to address most of them: * avoid unnecessary server side error logs (change `fail()` to not log them) * figure out the broken tests/user2/lfs.git (added comments) * avoid `migratePushMirrors` failure when a repository doesn't exist (ignore them) * avoid "Authorization" (internal&lfs) header conflicts, remove the tricky "swapAuth" and use "X-Gitea-Internal-Auth" * make internal token comparing constant time (it wasn't a serous problem because in a real world it's nearly impossible to timing-attack the token, but good to fix and backport) * avoid duplicate routers (introduce AddOwnerRepoGitLFSRoutes) * avoid "internal (private)" routes using session/web context (they should use private context) * fix incorrect "path" usages (use "filepath") * fix incorrect mocked route point handling (need to check func nil correctly) * split some tests from "git general tests" to "git misc tests" (to keep "git_general_test.go" simple) Still no correct result for Git LFS SSH tests. So the code is kept there (`tests/integration/git_lfs_ssh_test.go`) and a FIXME explains the details.

* Allow force push to protected branches (#28086)Henry Goodman2024-07-052-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixes #22722 ### Problem Currently, it is not possible to force push to a branch with branch protection rules in place. There are often times where this is necessary (CI workflows/administrative tasks etc). The current workaround is to rename/remove the branch protection, perform the force push, and then reinstate the protections. ### Solution Provide an additional section in the branch protection rules to allow users to specify which users with push access can also force push to the branch. The default value of the rule will be set to `Disabled`, and the UI is intuitive and very similar to the `Push` section. It is worth noting in this implementation that allowing force push does not override regular push access, and both will need to be enabled for a user to force push. This applies to manual force push to a remote, and also in Gitea UI updating a PR by rebase (which requires force push) This modifies the `BranchProtection` API structs to add: - `enable_force_push bool` - `enable_force_push_whitelist bool` - `force_push_whitelist_usernames string[]` - `force_push_whitelist_teams string[]` - `force_push_whitelist_deploy_keys bool` ### Updated Branch Protection UI: <img width="943" alt="image" src="https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea/assets/79623665/7491899c-d816-45d5-be84-8512abd156bf"> ### Pull Request `Update branch by Rebase` option enabled with source branch `test` being a protected branch: ![image](https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea/assets/79623665/e018e6e9-b7b2-4bd3-808e-4947d7da35cc) <img width="1038" alt="image" src="https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea/assets/79623665/57ead13e-9006-459f-b83c-7079e6f4c654"> --------- Co-authored-by: wxiaoguang <wxiaoguang@gmail.com>

* Rename project board -> column to make the UI less confusing (#30170)Lunny Xiao2024-05-271-12/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This PR split the `Board` into two parts. One is the struct has been renamed to `Column` and the second we have a `Template Type`. * Store webhook event in database (#29145)oliverpool2024-03-072-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor the webhook logic, to have the type-dependent processing happen only in one place. --- ## Current webhook flow 1. An event happens 2. It is pre-processed (depending on the webhook type) and its body is added to a task queue 3. When the task is processed, some more logic (depending on the webhook type as well) is applied to make an HTTP request This means that webhook-type dependant logic is needed in step 2 and 3. This is cumbersome and brittle to maintain. Updated webhook flow with this PR: 1. An event happens 2. It is stored as-is and added to a task queue 3. When the task is processed, the event is processed (depending on the webhook type) to make an HTTP request So the only webhook-type dependent logic happens in one place (step 3) which should be much more robust. ## Consequences of the refactor - the raw event must be stored in the hooktask (until now, the pre-processed body was stored) - to ensure that previous hooktasks are correctly sent, a `payload_version` is added (version 1: the body has already been pre-process / version 2: the body is the raw event) So future webhook additions will only have to deal with creating an http.Request based on the raw event (no need to adjust the code in multiple places, like currently). Moreover since this processing happens when fetching from the task queue, it ensures that the queuing of new events (upon a `git push` for instance) does not get slowed down by a slow webhook. As a concrete example, the PR #19307 for custom webhooks, should be substantially smaller: - no need to change `services/webhook/deliver.go` - minimal change in `services/webhook/webhook.go` (add the new webhook to the map) - no need to change all the individual webhook files (since with this refactor the `*webhook_model.Webhook` is provided as argument)

* Add branch protection setting for ignoring stale approvals (#28498)Jimmy Praet2024-01-151-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixes #27114. * In Gitea 1.12 (#9532), a "dismiss stale approvals" branch protection setting was introduced, for ignoring stale reviews when verifying the approval count of a pull request. * In Gitea 1.14 (#12674), the "dismiss review" feature was added. * This caused confusion with users (#25858), as "dismiss" now means 2 different things. * In Gitea 1.20 (#25882), the behavior of the "dismiss stale approvals" branch protection was modified to actually dismiss the stale review. For some users this new behavior of dismissing the stale reviews is not desirable. So this PR reintroduces the old behavior as a new "ignore stale approvals" branch protection setting. --------- Co-authored-by: delvh <dev.lh@web.de>

* handle repository.size column being NULL in migration v263 (#28336)Nate Levesque2023-12-051-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This resolves a problem I encountered while updating gitea from 1.20.4 to 1.21. For some reason (correct or otherwise) there are some values in `repository.size` that are NULL in my gitea database which cause this migration to fail due to the NOT NULL constraints. Log snippet (excuse the escape characters) ``` ESC[36mgitea |ESC[0m 2023-12-04T03:52:28.573122395Z 2023/12/04 03:52:28 ...ations/migrations.go:641:Migrate() [I] Migration[263]: Add git_size and lfs_size columns to repository table ESC[36mgitea |ESC[0m 2023-12-04T03:52:28.608705544Z 2023/12/04 03:52:28 routers/common/db.go:36:InitDBEngine() [E] ORM engine initialization attempt #3/10 failed. Error: migrate: migration[263]: Add git_size and lfs_size columns to repository table failed: NOT NULL constraint failed: repository.git_size ``` I assume this should be reasonably safe since `repository.git_size` has a default value of 0 but I don't know if that value being 0 in the odd situation where `repository.size == NULL` has any problematic consequences.
