* Lazy load object format with command line and don't do it in OpenRepository ↵Lunny Xiao2024-03-121-3/+6
| | | | | | | (#29712) Most time, when invoking `git.OpenRepository`, `objectFormat` will not be used, so it's a waste to invoke commandline to get the object format. This PR make it a lazy operation, only invoke that when necessary.
* Discard unread data of `git cat-file` (#29297)KN4CK3R2024-02-221-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Fixes #29101 Related #29298 Discard all read data to prevent misinterpreting existing data. Some discard calls were missing in error cases. --------- Co-authored-by: yp05327 <576951401@qq.com>
* Improve ObjectFormat interface (#28496)Lunny Xiao2023-12-191-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The 4 functions are duplicated, especially as interface methods. I think we just need to keep `MustID` the only one and remove other 3. ``` MustID(b []byte) ObjectID MustIDFromString(s string) ObjectID NewID(b []byte) (ObjectID, error) NewIDFromString(s string) (ObjectID, error) ``` Introduced the new interfrace method `ComputeHash` which will replace the interface `HasherInterface`. Now we don't need to keep two interfaces. Reintroduced `git.NewIDFromString` and `git.MustIDFromString`. The new function will detect the hash length to decide which objectformat of it. If it's 40, then it's SHA1. If it's 64, then it's SHA256. This will be right if the commitID is a full one. So the parameter should be always a full commit id. @AdamMajer Please review.
* Abstract hash function usage (#28138)Adam Majer2023-12-131-12/+13
| | | | | | Refactor Hash interfaces and centralize hash function. This will allow easier introduction of different hash function later on. This forms the "no-op" part of the SHA256 enablement patch.
* Fix commit retrieval by tag (#21804)silverwind2023-03-021-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is not correct to return tag data when commit data is requested, so remove the hacky code that overwrote parts of a commit with parts of a tag. This fixes commit retrieval by tag for both the latest commit in the UI and the commit info on tag webhook events. * Do not read or write git reference files directly (#18079)zeripath2021-12-231-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | Git will and can pack references into packfiles and therefore if you write/read the files directly you will get false results. Instead you should use update-ref and show-ref. To that end I have created three new functions in git/repo_commit.go that will do this correctly. Related #17191 Signed-off-by: Andrew Thornton <art27@cantab.net>
* Prevent hang in git cat-file if repository is not a valid repository and ↵zeripath2021-12-161-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | other fixes (#17991) This PR contains multiple fixes. The most important of which is: * Prevent hang in git cat-file if the repository is not a valid repository Unfortunately it appears that if git cat-file is run in an invalid repository it will hang until stdin is closed. This will result in deadlocked /pulls pages and dangling git cat-file calls if a broken repository is tried to be reviewed or pulls exists for a broken repository. Fix #14734 Fix #9271 Fix #16113 Otherwise there are a few small other fixes included which this PR was initially intending to fix: * Fix panic on partial compares due to missing PullRequestWorkInProgressPrefixes * Fix links on pulls pages due to regression from #17551 - by making most /issues routes match /pulls too - Fix #17983 * Fix links on feeds pages due to another regression from #17551 but also fix issue with syncing tags - Fix #17943 * Add missing locale entries for oauth group claims * Prevent NPEs if ColorFormat is called on nil users, repos or teams.
* Make Requests Processes and create process hierarchy. Associate ↵zeripath2021-11-301-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | OpenRepository with context. (#17125) This PR registers requests with the process manager and manages hierarchy within the processes. Git repos are then associated with a context, (usually the request's context) - with sub commands using this context as their base context. Signed-off-by: Andrew Thornton <art27@cantab.net>
