Found a surplus "pop state" which somehow causes a regression (fill color doesn't get properly reset) between 0.94 and 0.95. Shows in Barcode4J's fop-extension-demo.fo. The line has already been there in 0.94 but only shows in 0.95 probably due to an additional save/restore state pair added in PDFRenderer for reference areas after the block-container area refactoring.

Bugzilla 37579: added support for footnotes in lists and table bodies (not header nor footer).
This is /not/ to be considered a final fix: similar code is duplicated over several classes (LineLayoutManager, ListItemLayoutManager and to less extent TableStepper). Footnotes should probably be handled another way.

Fixed NPE in BlockContainerLayoutManager when used as a child of an inline-level FO. Split IP and BP stack limits in LayoutContext (there's now a certain amount of redundancy with "refIPD" in LayoutContext which I didn't resolve).
Areas are now generated for block-level FOs when used as children of inline-level FOs.
ClassCastException in ListLayoutManager.mustKeepTogether() fixed (occured if used as child of an inline-level FO).

Implemented limited support for extension properties through new methods on ElementMapping (backwards-compatible).
Moved block-progression-unit into the fox: namespace.
Implemented new extension properties: fox:orphan-content-limit and fox:widow-content-limit for fo:table and fo:list-block. See documentation for details.
Bugfix in ElementListUtils.removeLegalBreaks (concerning box/glue combinations). Added a unit test to cover the problem.

Updated from Jakarta Commons IO 1.0 to 1.1. CopyUtils.copy() becomes IOUtils.copy() again. CopyUtils in 1.0 was not ideal design decision.
Fixed most of the unappropriate System.err/System.out/Exception.printStackTrace(). Those that aren't fixed and are not legitimate calls (in main() methods etc.) are marked with a TODO item.
Some Javadocs and style updates.

Send the ID of the producing FO to the area tree as trait where possible.
This is useful for testing and may later be interesting for FO editor implementors and for other things where you want to identify the generating FO from a particular object in the output.

Removed LM.initialize() -- switched to internal initialization of all LM's.
Did initialization from constructor, as that appeared sufficient for all of them.
Should for any LM, initialization not be available until the parentLM set,
then we just need to do this process within a setParent() override.
Also removed calls to superclass initialization, because as yet no initialization
was occurring in those superclasses.

New member variable "index" on Position (used for first/last checks).
Position numbering implemented in BlockStackingLayoutManager (see member variables: lastGeneratedPosition and smallestPosNumberChecked)
Use notifyPos to give a Position an index (Don't reuse Position instances that get an index!)
Flags on TableContentPosition indicating first and last status (see TableStepper).
New way of determining first/last area implemented on all currently implemented block-level FOs.
Removed obsolete isBogus() method from LayoutManager.
Removed duplicate wrapPositionElements() method in FlowLayoutManager.
Some javadocs here and there.

A glue at the beginning of the element list can't be a legal break point. Fixes an ArrayIndexOutOfBounds when there's a space-before at the beginning of the list.
Merge of branch Temp_KnuthStylePageBreaking back into HEAD.
Temp_KnuthStylePageBreaking branch and HEAD have been tagged prior to the merge, so merging uncommitted work from the branch should be easier.
