Changes to patch:
- Restored the deprecated Graphics2DAdapter method (to be removed after Barcode4J 2.1 is released).
- Restored Renderer.startPageSequence(LineArea) pending discussion about removal.
- build.xml: set max VM to 1024MB instead of 2048MB to allow for 32-bit JVMs.
- build.xml: restored longer taskdef names.
- Restored Checkstyle 4 file for people running older IDEs.

Application of the patch submitted by Alexander Kiel to improve variable names around Kerning and KnuthElement (see https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48003).
Reverted changes made in revision 796809 (manual merge of clean-up changes made in the ChangingIPDHack branch). Those changes will be re-applied when merging the branch back to Trunk with svn merge --reintegrate (if everything goes well...)

An emergency patch to avoid that a non-breaking space at the end of an
fo:inline with padding, followed by another fo:inline, while
text-align is justify, does not cause a NullPointerException due to
InlineStackingLayoutManager.addALetterSpaceTo(). Patch submitted by
Max Berger <max@berger.name>, applied with some modifications. This
patch solves bug 39571.

LineArea had a finalize method which caused a NPE when called from the garbage collector. I assume it was never intended for this method to be an override of the Java Object finalize method. Renamed the method to finalise.
