Merged Temp_API_Finalization branch back into FOP Trunk:
Finalized API according to the plan in the Wiki: http://wiki.apache.org/xmlgraphics-fop/ApiDesign
In addition to that:
Deprecated the rest of the Fop constructors.
Refactored the FopServlet a bit to make it more versatile and still easy to understand. The FopPrintServlet is now a subclass of FopServlet.
Some further cleanup on the way.

border-collapse="collapse" rules implemented but not fully tested, yet.
Collapsing of borders works only for start and end borders, yet, and there only for non-spanned cells.
CellLM is now prepared to get the full list of grid unit it occupies (necessary for collapsed border painting).
Row.CellInfo extracted and renamed to GridUnit.

Early preloading of images (during FO tree building). This wasn't consistent before (bg-images were loaded by the renderer).
background-position-* implemented where possible (area IPD and BPD must be set for percentages to work)
Fixed placement bug for images (bad rounding or coordinates).

1.) Chris Bowditch's patch on padding-start implemented. (Changes were
extended to implement part of padding-end as well.)
2.) Switched from TOP/BOTTOM/LEFT/RIGHT to BEFORE/AFTER/START/END
in CommonBorderAndPadding--this is more appropriate for BlockLayout,
also the various places calling it already were either (1) commenting
on the need to switch to the above, or (2) placing the results of the
above functions using the former constants into variables emphasizing
the latter.

Separate Position from BreakPoss and create Leaf and NonLeafPosition classes.
Move management of Trait to top level Area class and use HAshMap instead of List.
Generalize handling of Trait in XMLRenderer and AreaTreeBuilder.
Improve handling of word-space and inter-area inline spaces in BP-style layout
managers. Set border and padding traits on InlineParent areas.
